How To Better Your Blog

On February 15, 2012, in SEO, by admin

People read blogs and people write blogs for many different reasons. The key to remember is that your article is more likely to be found when it matches the reader’s needs. If you write because you are bored, people who are bored will probably end up reading. If you write for information, people seeking a specific answer will probably come across your blog. This is a very important chain of events. This “chain of events” can be simply defined as relevancy.

Before you start worrying about keywords, search engine optimization, backlinks or social media you have to have a topic. Your topic is the root of the article; the one thing that will stem into what is, hopefully, a quality article. When a topic is chosen it needs to be specific, it needs to be thorough and it needs to about 300 to 500 words. From there, you can then begin worrying about writing, keywords and their density and however else you choose to market your content.

Don’t fluff up articles with sentences that mean nothing except for a pretty string of words. If it isn’t meaningful and to the point it is not worth being there to begin with. Try to include photos or a video that will interest readers and keep them on the page longer. The longer you keep a reader, the higher chance that they will begin to explore your site and maybe return.

Quality is very important because it gives the readers what they are looking for. When they get that they see everything else that you do online as a potential for quality. All articles will be seen as something that can be counted on and you will become a reliable expert. If you are selling something, chances are, that when they see quality writing they will be more inclined to view the product as quality also.

Everything links together. While SEO, backlinks and other forms of marketing are imperative the first thing you need to do is focus on who you are trying to reach out to. From there, suit their needs with content and/or products and your needs by getting the results you need for your blog. This one step will instantly better your blog!

Get Your Blog Found

On February 14, 2012, in SEO, by admin

There are several guidelines that come to mind when thinking about the perfect blog. Every blogger wants their content to be seen but it is not as easy as posting an article and wishing. Certain rules should be followed to be certain that your content will be found and that your site is not blacklisted

Always practice white hat habits rather than black hat. This is pretty simple, by doing things the right way and not being sneaky to get your site to the top is white hat. When you make sure that your content is high quality and that you don’t over-stuff the article you are practicing white hat techniques. Search engines do not like to be tricked; if they figure that out they blacklist the site(s). Think of it as a sort of punishment.

You can still make content search engine optimized with keywords, originality and quality. Search engines are getting smarter and they look for quality and pureness of content first. Pick a topic, figure out the keyword from the topic and use the keyword at a density rate of two to three percent. Make sure that the content actually gives the reader useful information to keep them coming back for more. Most people don’t like to read things that are clearly for revenue alone. The writer-reader partnership must be mutually beneficial to get any gain out of writing.

If these few tips are followed it will make a big difference in search engine placement over time. You must build your site the right way and continuously maintain it to see success. It sounds simple, and it is, but it will take a lot of hard work and diligence to reap what you sow. Consider whether or not you would want to read your own content and patiently wait to see results.

Content For Not So Dummies

On January 9, 2012, in Web Design, by admin

It is a common saying that can be applied to so many facets of our lives: “You have to play to win”. You can take that as meaning you have to be in the game in order to give yourself a chance at winning; failure results from not trying in the first place. Or you could read it as saying the only reason to play in the first place is to win, so if you get involved, do it right. Regardless of your interpretation, the fact remains that if you want to succeed in toady’s world, you have to play the Internet game, and you’d better be playing to win.

All kinds of business takes place online, from the old fashioned point and click catalogue orders to the in depth marketing strategies employed by SEO authors and ad revenue experts. Search engines are constantly updating their algorithms to weed out irrelevant content and push traffic to the most deserving websites. Traffic is the name of the game and knowing how to drive numbers is an incredibly important skill.

The first thing to realize when creating content is that quality trumps quantity. It may be another old fashioned saying, but this simple approach can help you stand head and shoulders above the crowd of competitors in your field. No matter what you have chosen to speak about, make sure you can speak authoritatively, you want everyone who views your content to realize you are an expert on the subject.

Once you begin creating your content, you have to stay creative. Just as no one finishes a book that bores them ten pages in, no one will continue to come to your site and read your content if you don’t keep them engaged. Simply stuffing your content with keywords in high density will not cut it in today’s market. Search engines are too smart and consumers too discerning to stay with you if your content reads like it was meant for robots.

Of course you can still use relevant keywords appropriately to drive higher traffic to your content. Good advance research can help you keep your finger on the pulse of what is being searched for at any given time. If you weave that into your dialogue in a way that makes sense, you can get more hits and if you deliver quality content those hits will generate long term revenue in the form of return customers and readers.
